I am Dr Alagappan, a family physician and father of 2 children. My elder daughter Kiruthika is studying 2nd std in THE SCHOOL KFI.

Hope you all would be familiar with the name of J. Krishnamurti, a philosopher, also known as world teacher who is regarded as one of the greatest thinkers and religious teachers of all time who did not expound any philosophy or religion, but rather talked of the things that concern all of us in our everyday lives, of the problems of living in modern society with its violence and corruption and the need for mankind to free itself from inner burdens of fear, anger, hurt, and sorrow.

According to J. Krishnamurti who founded this school 'A school is a place where one learns about the wholeness of life. Academic excellence is absolutely necessary, but a school includes much more than that. It is a place where both the teacher and the student explore, not only the outer world, the world of knowledge, but also their own thinking, their own behavior.'

In The school, the teachers encourage the children to enjoy learning. They encourage them to go beyond comparison, competition, rewards, punishment or fear and, instead, look within to find their own motivations and predilections for learning and engagement.

The School KFI has been functioning on leased premises of The Theosophical Society since 1979 and as the agreement expires, now they are facing a huge challenge - relocating the school within a short span of time.

There are a very few schools which really thinks and develops the skills of children which are really necessary for life, which help them to become good human beings. Such schools should exist for ever and we all should support them.

I run this marathon to show my respect and support to them, and it would be great if you all would contribute some funds along with me which may help them in a smaller or bigger way.
